How to get a Saju reading from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini

AI assistants are good at explaining a Four Pillars chart and bad at calculating one. SajuPaste exists to split the job: the site does the arithmetic, the AI does the reading. Here is how to get the most out of it.

Why not let the AI calculate the chart?

Turning a birth into eight characters is calendar work: the solar year starts at Ipchun, around February 4; the month pillar changes at each solar term, not on the first of the month; the day pillar comes from a continuous sixty-day cycle; the hour pillar depends on true solar time at your birthplace. Language models get these steps wrong often enough that a reading built on their own calculation is a coin toss. When the chart is supplied, the same models interpret it very well, because interpretation is language, and they have read the books.

Step by step

  1. Calculate your chart on SajuPaste. Enter the birth date, time (or the rough animal hour, or “No”), and the city.
  2. Press Copy text. The text contains the four pillars with Chinese characters and English labels, hidden stems, ten gods, life stages, stars, interactions, element percentages, the useful element, your current luck pillar, and a short instruction telling the AI what kind of reading to give.
  3. Open ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and paste it as your first message. Send it as is.
  4. Read the first answer, then ask follow-up questions. The chart stays in the conversation, so you do not need to paste it again.

Follow-up prompts that work

The pasted text already asks for a structured reading. These prompts dig deeper. Copy any of them into the same conversation.

  • Personality
Based on this chart, describe my core temperament, strengths and blind spots. Ground each point in a specific character or interaction.
  • Career
Which kinds of work suit this chart and why? Look at the Wealth and Officer characters, the Day Master strength and the useful element.
  • Relationships
What does this chart say about how I love and what I need from a partner? Use the Day branch and the Peach Blossom or other stars if present.
  • Balance
Which element is missing or excessive, and what practical habits, colours, directions or activities would balance it according to tradition?
  • Current period
Using only the current luck pillar given in the text, explain how this ten-year period interacts with my natal chart. Do not invent other periods.
  • Check yourself
List three things in this chart you are least certain about and why a human reader might disagree.

What AI does well

  • Explaining terms in plain language: what Seven Killings means, why a missing element matters.
  • Synthesising: pulling the Day Master, the element balance and the interactions into one coherent picture.
  • Answering follow-ups patiently, at any depth, in any language.

What to watch for

  • Invented timing. If you ask about next year or your forties, the AI may make up luck pillars. The SajuPaste text says explicitly that only the current luck pillar is included; if the answer mentions others, it is guessing.
  • Flattery. Assistants tend to be kind. Ask for cautions and weaknesses directly, or use the “Check yourself” prompt above.
  • Confident detail. A reading that names specific years, illnesses or people is over-reaching. Good readers speak in tendencies.
  • Mixed traditions. The AI may switch between Korean and Chinese names (Gap and Jia). Both are correct; the character is the same.
Treat the reading the way Koreans traditionally do: as a mirror for reflection, not a forecast to obey. The chart describes tendencies; what you do with them is yours.

Going further

A natal chart answers “who am I”. Timing, the ten-year luck pillars and the year ahead, answers “when”. That is a different calculation and a different kind of reading, which is why SajuPaste leaves it out and points you to Korea Fortune when you want it.

Questions people ask

Can’t I just tell ChatGPT my birthday and ask for a Saju reading?
You can, but the chart it works from will often be wrong. Language models are unreliable at calendar arithmetic: the year pillar changes at Ipchun rather than January 1, the day pillar comes from a sixty-day cycle, and the hour must be corrected for your birthplace. Give the AI a calculated chart and it does the part it is good at, the interpretation.
Which AI gives the best Saju reading?
All major assistants know the Four Pillars system well enough to interpret a chart. Differences are in style rather than accuracy. Try the same text in two of them and compare; the parts they agree on are the parts to trust.
Is my birth data sent to the AI company?
Only what you paste. The SajuPaste text contains your birth date, time, place and the chart. If you prefer, delete the Birth data section before pasting; the chart itself is enough for a reading.
